Like most things that are rich and valued, the Sarasota Craft Fair has stood the test of time and embodies the drive that people have shown to preserve their most cherished events. The 7th Annual Sarasota Craft Fair returns on Dec. 4-6 at Robarts Arena, with a continued mission of delivering finely crafted and stunning pieces of art in various mediums to loyal fans hungry for each new piece.
Lauded for their high degree of satisfaction among artists and vendors, the producers of this weekend’s show are Richard and Joanna Rothbard, owners of American Art Company. When the American Craft Council canceled their show in Sarasota several years ago, Richard and Joanna were tapped to bring the art fair back to reality for a large constituency who never missed the event. Over the past several years, the craft show has gained in popularity and has garnered respect and admiration for the Rothbards for running fine arts and crafts shows. You can catch Richard Rothbard’s brainchild “Boxology” at the event and you will be amazed at the intricately detailed puzzle boxes he creates, which he describes as “poetry, psychology and philosophy in wood. “
Wherever your heart lies among crafting and arts genres you won’t be disappointed with the Sarasota Craft Fair. Outstanding pieces representing wood, painting, wearable art, ceramics, glass, jewelry, leather and more will be on display. Exhibitors who have grown with the show continue to return year after year and enjoy that the show draws attendees from all over Southwest Florida. If you’re in the mood for an artful weekend where the best of the best convene to show their respected works of love and hard labor, then you need to attend the Sarasota Craft Fair at Robarts Arena this weekend. Children under 10 are free, adults are $11, seniors $10, and students pay just $6 to enter. A weekend pass for $13 will also be sold. Visit sarasotacraftshow.com for more information.
