Sarasota Hosting AIDS Walk - December 5th from 8:00am – 12:00pm
Posted by See Sarasota Live on
The 2015 AIDS Walk will be held on Saturday Dec. 5th beginning at J.D. Hamel Park/Ringling Bridge. Come join the first AIDS walk held in Sarasota/Manatee Counties this weekend and be on the forefront of future walks benefiting the work of Trinity Charities Inc. TCI provides education and services to the public on AIDS and AIDS prevention. Their work includes counseling, educational outlets and much needed support in the areas of AIDS prevention. They also help those living with AIDS on a number of levels including daily support, emotional friendship, offering wellness programs and countless other areas where the help of the public is still needed.
Approximately 500 walkers are expected to participate in this weekend’s event, and you can easily volunteer your time, or register online to walk or create a team. It’s great when a community can come together and rally around a worthy cause, and, hopefully, the community can make this an annual event that is on everyone’s radar. Corporate team sponsorship, volunteers and walkers are encouraged to sign up and join with your neighbors and friends to get the word out and to show that Sarasota cares. With the beautiful Ringling Bridge as your track mate, you are in for not only a day of volunteerism and giving back to the community and showing support for those affected by AIDS, you’ll also get the stellar views of Sarasota Bay as your backdrop. Here’s hoping there’s a lot of foot traffic on the Ringling Bridge in the name of AIDS help and research, and that the community rallies with their support in a meaningful way.
