Brohard Beach and Paw Park

Brohard Beach and Paw Park

Dogs love beaches

Fishing and boating, golf and tennis, bird watching and bicycling are 6 of the many recreational activities popular in Sarasota County. As a recreational capital unparalleled anywhere, Sarasota County offers some of the most in-demand beaches, parks, and recreational facilities in the country. Scores of beautiful, user-friendly parks and nature preserves and 35 miles of pristine white beaches provide something here for everyone.

And in Sarasota County, “everyone” includes your beloved favorite pets! Dogs and their human companions particularly adore the Sarasota area, where a number of “paw parks” and several “dog beaches” provide special amenities exclusively for your furry best friends. Brohard Beach and Paw Park, located at 1600 Harbor Drive South in Venice, is one of the most popular beaches and parks in the area. Your canine buddy will appreciate the doggie drinking fountains and dog-only showers. On one section of the beach, dogs can run free or chase tennis balls or Frisbees; there’s even a spot reserved for your pet to go swimming.

Brohard Beach and Paw Park sits on 89 waterfront acres on the majestic Gulf of Mexico, immediately south of the Venice Fishing Pier. You’ll also find plenty of delights there for yourself and your fellow humans: a bait shop, a snack bar, and complete picnic facilities.

It’s a great spot to meet, make friends, and trade notes with other pet owners. Brohard Beach is also immensely popular with sharks’ tooth collectors and shell collectors, and it’s the ultimate location for viewing spectacular sunsets on the Gulf.

Brohard Beach and Paw Park is a family-friendly beach and park, and it’s completely handicapped-accessible. For the safety and comfort of pets and people alike, Brohard Beach and Paw Park is smoke free, and no glass bottles or containers are allowed. The beach and park are open daily from sunrise to sunset. Admission and parking are always free, and while the beach and park never close, dogs are allowed to run free only from 7:00 a.m. until sunset. Bring your friends – human and otherwise – for a splendid time on the waterfront at Brohard Beach and Paw Park in Venice.
